Concept Abstract
For my poster I decided to do a album tour cover for the R&B artist Mary J. Blige and her album “The Breakthrough”. Her album is about her stuggles she has had in her life, and finally being able to get out of those situations and find her she is, and love every part of her no matter what others may say or think of her. So I looked at all of her other album covers, and she always has her face on the album cover, its kind of her signature which I totally understand. However for this album I felt a connection with it and I felt that it needed more for this, more of a statement for her. So my idea is to have breaking glass in the background, and have Mary J. Blige’s face in the middle as big as I can make it since she is the star and that is her signature. At the bottom would be her songs that are on the albuma nd a website that people can go to to find out the location and the cost of tickets and to purchase tickets. Her name would be in cursive font across the top to match ehr elgant style. And the name of the album would be broken up. So “The Break” would be in the top left hand corner, having “Break” be larger and “The” be small. And the word “Through” would be broken up through the back of her photo. So “THR” on one side of her head and “UGH” on the other side and her head would stand as the “O”.
